Lymm High School required a full refurbishment of its washroom facilities. The school sought an upgrade to provide a durability-focused, easy-to-maintain solution that would withstand daily use while ensuring a modern, functional, and clean environment for students and staff.
Project Requirements
- Designed for durability: Ensuring strength and resistance to damage was a top priority to avoid frequent repairs and guaranteeing a lengthy lifespan for all fittings. The school sought a solution that could endure heavy use while reducing the potential for deterioration.
- Low maintenance: The cleaning and maintenance staff at the school requested that new facilities be designed to streamline their work, minimising the time and effort required to clean the washrooms while maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Modern design: Lymm High School desired a fresh and contemporary look that would update the washrooms visually, creating an inviting and well-maintained atmosphere. Enhancing the aesthetic appeal was seen as a way to positively impact the school’s overall environment.
Scope of Work
The project involved an extensive refurbishment of the school’s restroom areas, transforming the space through the following key elements:
- Full-height cubicles: Full-height cubicles were installed for added privacy and improved security. This feature not only enhanced privacy but also minimised opportunities for misuse or damage, contributing to the overall durability of the facilities.
- Corian Troughs: Seamless Corian troughs were selected for their modern appearance and their highly resilient, low-maintenance nature. The solid surface material of the sinks is easy to clean and resistant to damage, making them both visually appealing and practical for long-term use.
- Cladding, flooring, and lighting: The refurbishment included the installation of new wall cladding, durable flooring, and modern lighting fixtures to create a bright, clean, and polished look, improving both durability and a visual appeal.
- Sanitaryware and accessories: The installation also covered new sanitaryware, including toilets, as well as necessary restroom accessories such as soap dispensers and hand dryers, providing functionality and convenience for users.
